Think of this as your elevated Martinelli’s for the adults’ table. As the air is getting cooler and we’re creeping into fall, I’ve found myself craving a mocktail more appropriate for the new season. The problem is most that I’ve found online are laden with sugar, which for me defeats the purpose of a mocktail.
Obviously this lead to me experimenting with different drink recipes, and, eventually to this apple fizz mocktail. It’s easy (3 base ingredients), healthy, and delicious! I see this as my go-to for all Friends & Thanksgivings going forward.
Ingredients:
(Per mocktail)
- 4 oz sparkling water
- 3 oz apple juice
- Splash of ginger wellness shot (~1/2 tsp)
- 1/2 tsp granulated sugar (for the optional rim)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (also for the optional rim)
- 2 thin slices of apple (optional garnish)
- 1 sprig of rosemary (optional garnish)
Directions:
(Total time: 5 minutes)
- Optional: If you’d like a cinnamon sugar rim – combine cinnamon and sugar on a plate. Rim your glass with an apple slice, then roll the lip in the cinnamon sugar.
- Add ice to your glass**, pour in apple juice, sparkling water, and a dash of the ginger shot. Stir.
- Optional: If desired, garnish with another apple slice and a sprig of rosemary. Enjoy!
Notes:
*You can find ginger wellness shots with the juices/kombucha at the grocery store. I used Vive Organics which I found at Safeway, but is also sold at Target and other stores.
** I like to serve in a big wine glass. This one is Crate and Barrel’s hip large red wine glass & my absolute fav.
