Holly Jolly Mocktail (Pomegranate Sparkler)

Pomegranate juice, sparkling water, and an orange wedged salty-sugar rim make for a festive drink!

The holidays are a time of fun, friends, family, and, at least in the US, a LOT of alcohol. I wanted to come up with something that I’d reach for in excitement all holiday season long without feeling like it was “less than.” Pomegranates have always been one of my favorite winter fruits, and I used to hoard the original glasses that POM first came in (any other 90s babies remember those??). And so, this holly jolly pomegranate sparkler was born.

Ingredients:

(Fills 1, 16 oz glass*)

  • 7 oz sparkling water
  • 5 oz pomegranate juice
  • Orange wedge
  • 1 tsp salt & sugar, respectively
  • Ice**

Directions:

(Total time: 5 minutes)

  1. Sprinkle salt and sugar on a plate. Rub an orange wedge over the side & rim of your glass, then roll the glass in the salty sugar.
  2. Place an ice cube in glass, followed by sparkling water & pomegranate juice. Stir and enjoy!

Notes:

*This is also amazing just as pomegranate juice & sparkling water. The ratio is 2:3 and you can customize from there!

**I froze cranberries & orange slices in W&P’s Collin’s ice mold (those are the long ones!) for my ice cube.
