I love shishito peppers. I feel they’ve replaced brussels sprouts as the go-to appetizer on menus, and I am here for it. That being said, I’m also 10000% behind people learning how to make them for themselves at home. It’s incredibly easy, and you can be serving your family, roommates, and friends deceptively fancy appetizers in no time. Especially while we’re all quarantining, I recommend trying this to spice up your evenings.
Note: for all you Trader Joe’s fans, you can readily find these with the produce!
Ingredients:
- 6 oz shishito peppers
- 1/2 tbs olive oil
- 1 lemon
- Sea salt
Directions:
- Heat up grill pan, cast iron skillet, or frying pan then coat with oil. Let it get hot.
- Once hot, add the peppers. Flip them occasionally once you notice they start to blister, about 5 min on each side.
- Once they sufficiently blister and soften, remove from heat. Squeeze lemon over them, sprinkle with salt, and dig in!
